[Unlike Tohru, Kyou is able to easily pluck the bowl from the shelf it sat on. He hands it to her, the amused smile from earlier still plastered on his face.]

Looks like we'll need to move this somewhere you can actually reach.

Ah, thank you, Kyou-kun!

[Tohru beams at him, taking the bowl and gently putting it on the counter, the embarrassment she felt earlier was melting away.]

Um, how about leaving it on the counter here? That would make it easier for me.

Just leave it there when you're done with it and I'll make sure not to place it back up.

[He grins a mischievously, tucking his hands into his pockets as he shrugs his shoulders.]

Or maybe I will, just to watch you struggle for it again.

[jadgkagkgajdadgjk It was probably a good thing the bowl was already on the table or Tohru might have dropped it in shock.]

W-wha?! K-K-Kyou-kuuuuuuuun! Noooooooo!

[Looks like someone isn't still used to being teased by her boyfriend. >w> Really Tohru.]

[Kyou just laughs at her reaction. It was exactly as he was expected but he did enjoy watching Tohru squirm sometimes, not that he would ever admit that out loud.] I'm just kidding. I won't touch it.

Mou...

[Tohru takes a couple of breaths to calm her nerves, leaning her head on Kyou's shoulder in an attempt to hide her blushing face.]

I'm never going to get used to Kyou-kun teasing me.

[He allows her to lean on him, but he leans closer to her, his lips almost grazing her ear. Even if he himself could feel the growing blush on his cheek, he whispers softly to her.] Not even now that we're living together? [It's not something he would've done in the past but they were alone now. No more wandering eyes, no more unwarranted side comments from their housemates. Just him and Tohru.

[It dawns on her now that it is just the two of them living in this apartment with nothing standing in between them anymore. She wouldn't even think being this close to Kyou was possible if they had remained at Shigure's house (the thought just makes her blush even more.) Her heartbeat quickens when he leans closer to her, shivering inwardly when she feels his breath tickle her ear.]

N-no. I...

[She sighs softly, reaching out to grip the edge of his shirt and burying her face deeper into his shoulder, nuzzling him in the process. Even though the curse was broken, Tohru is still careful whenever she wanted to hold Kyou. It was silly (since Kyou doesn't change into a cat anymore) but old habits die hard.]

I-it's impossible... [Shaking her head.] Just impossible...

[It was nice just being with her like this. Never in a million years did he think it was possible either, not with all the wrong he had done to her... and her mother. Somehow he'd been lucky — more than lucky — that this girl was able to see past his faults and the guilt that he'd carried with him for so long. While he still wished he could change the past, a part of him knew that they might not even be here together if it wasn't for that chain of events. But he doesn't dwell on the thought for long, shaking his head as he dismissed it from his mind.

Bringing up an arm and wrapping it around her, he pulls her even closer to him. He breathes in the scent of her hair, letting out a sigh of his own.]

Hmm? What's impossible?

[She stiffens up for a moment when he wraps an arm around her, her muscle memory still making her react the same way whenever Kyou was about to turn into a cat after being hugged like that. Tohru had to remind herself *again* that the transformation never happens anymore, that it was all right to hold him.

She sighs once more, her body relaxing while she wraps both of her arms around him to return the hug. The girl was so wrapped up in her thoughts (the pleasant warmth she felt while holding Kyou may have something to do with that too) that she almost didn't hear his question to her.]

Mmm…? Oh!

[She shifts a little, snuggling into him more, inhaling his scent before speaking again.]

I… um… Everything that I experience with you, Kyou-kun… It always feels like it's the first time. Is that... strange?

[cursebound]

[He can't help but smile as she returns the hug. Despite having held her in his arms countless of times since the curse had broken, there were times he found it hard to believe that they could do something as mundane with this without any worry, or stress, or even fear.

But he shakes his head in reply, even if she may not see it.]

It's not weird. That how... this is supposed to feel, right?

[A blush creeps onto his cheeks. Aaah, how did this turn out to be embarrassing? In attempt to save face, he adds:]

At least that's what I've heard.

[ Tohru finds herself giggling softly, giving the boy a gentle squeeze of her arms. That feeling of love and warmth she and Kyou shared would always feel new to her, no matter how long they have been together. The both of them have been through a lot for the past couple of years so feeling bliss like this is... it's a precious thing.

It was something that Tohru wanted to protect with all her heart. ]

Then I want to feel like this with Kyou-kun every single day.

[Kyou couldn't help but laugh. It just seemed so like Tohru to say something like that. And yet, it only reminded him of why he'd admired and loved her so much in the first place. Her outlook in life was never bleak, always seeing the good that was to come. He couldn't help but think if it was all right to actually be this happy.] And I want to feel like this with you always, Tohru. [Pulling back slightly from their embrace, he looks at her with the smallest of smiles on his face. And almost as quickly as he pulls back, he leans into Tohru once more, gently planting his lips on hers.]
