[ooc: Went with post-UC3, hope that's okay! We could move it to a different timeline if you'd prefer that. Just tell me.]

[It had been a while since Nathan Drake had been able to take a breather, but after everything that had gone down in Yemen, he finally felt that he needed a long, much-needed break. As soon as the dust had settled and he was able to recuperate, he, Sully and Elena packed all their belongings and headed back for the United States. It was odd being home again but he welcomed it nonetheless.

But being home also meant that he would have to pick up the pieces as well. And man, were there a lot of pieces to pick up. Staring with Elena. Though he wasn't the type to say sorry easily, he made sure that she knew how much he wanted to make things up to her. He'd even made a joke that it was a good thing they hadn't gotten divorced, making things easier for them but that quip didn't pan out as well as he had thought.

Regardless, he made an effort to patch things up and take the time to work things out with her. Starting with this date. If you could call it that, that is. Their drinks sat on the coffee table before them, as they both lounged on the couch.

Nate looked towards the clock on the shelf and made a face.]

Okay, so we have five minutes left. How much are you willing to bet that the pizza's going to arrive late?

[Mundane wasn't easy. When you spent years in war zones, covering stories, and getting into trouble-- peace and quiet was strange. Not bad, just...an adjustment. But she was glad it wasn't something she was tackling on her own.]

How do you know they're not just outside? Or right around the corner? [She was just messing with him innocently, but when he mentioned a wager, her eyebrow went up.]

Me? Scared? You know better than that. [She grinned mischievously now, sitting back up so she could look him in the eyes, practically daring him to make a bet.]

Oh, you're on.

[so much for keeping things mundane.]
