[A loud clatter was heard through the hallway as Beat wrestled with the vending machine. While the noise was impossible to ignore but not a single soul walked up to help the poor boy. Instead many chose to walk past him, snickering at his misfortune. And what a misfortune it was. It might've been fine were it was a simple problem but things have escalated beyond that.
The vending machine in question was quite old and there was a certain ritual that needed to be done to get your desired item. Everyone knew about the ritual, even Beat. But somehow he had forgotten about it when he placed his change into the machine, blinded by his eagerness for the last candy bar in the row. Everything had gone without a hitch. Mostly. The machine accepted his payment, he punched the necessary combination, the coil turned and the candy bar fell... Fell forward to lean up against the glass that is, its tip still holding on to the remaining unturned coil. That's when the pounding and shaking began, yet the candy bar refused to budge.
In a last ditch effort to retrieved his prize, Beat stuck his hand into the machine's flap and reached upward, trying to reach for it. After two failed attempts, he tried to reach in even further, his fingertips brushing up against the wrapper. He wiggled his fingers, hoping to finally find purchase— only to wind up latching his wristband on to one of the lower coils.
Which brings us to the present. Beat struggled with the machine for a while now, trying to free his hand from the machine to no avail. He grumbled beneath his breath, taking a momentary break from his scuffle.]
Seriously, yo? I jus' wanted to get a snack.

She's on her way there, chatting with some of the girls also in the club when they happen upon Beat. Several of the girls snicker as they pass by, but Ty Lee merely glances. The boy that showed her around seemed oblivious to the snickering - instead he was hell bent on getting his hand unstuck from the vending machine. The group rounds a corner before Ty Lee pipes up, letting out a sheepish laugh.]
I'm going to head back - I forgot something back in the classroom.
[With the promise that she'll be there as soon as she can, she doubles back to where Beat is still struggling in vain.]
You look like you need some help.
